The Beauty of Bali

One of the things which makes Bali so beautiful is the beaches - the most popular are found in southern Bali. This is one of the reasons why most tourists stay in this part of Bali. These beaches are known to be picturesque with clear, blue waters and lovely white sand - good for sunbathing, sea bathing and even snorkeling. Some of the popular beaches are Nusa Dua, Kuta and Sanur, where the tropical Balinese weather makes it a great time to go to the beach.

While the southern part of Bali is more popular, you can also visit the northern beaches, which have black sands and lovely waters. There you will find the famous Lovina beach, where you can view dolphins or simply take a tranquil walk along the beach. You can also enjoy a view of Mount Agung in the distance. Just off Lovina beach, you can visit the uninhabited coral reef island of Deer Island also called Menjangan Island, where you can go snorkeling or diving. If you want to have a more peaceful, quiet experience of Bali for a change, the trek to the northern beaches is definitely worth it!

Even though your accommodation and the beaches will be wonderful, your exploration would be incomplete without travelling to see the sites of the towns and the villages. Since Bali is a volcanic island, it is characterized by rolling hills, lush vegetation and breathtaking sites, which include the popular rice terraces. These terraces line the Bali countryside with stunning landscaping designs that are worth capturing so take your camera!

Bali Culture

Don't put that camera away, because you will need it when you explore Balinese culture. The next stop -- the temples. They are scattered throughout Bali and are truly spectacular. You will then understand why Bali as also known as the 'Island of the Gods'. Two temples are:

The Pura Besakih or Besakih temple (Pura means 'temple' in Balinese) is considered the most important and holiest temples in Bali. This Hindu temple is located on Mount Agung, the highest mountain on the island in Central Bali.

Pura Ulun Danu, also located in the central mountains of Bali, is a natural stop when travelling from the south to the north coast.

After the temples, you can also see the dances done by Balinese girls or women. These dances are greatly influenced by the culture and the Hindu religion of Bali. Here is a great opportunity to capture the colour, music and talent of the Balinese people.
